mpep.io is a structured, citable reference for the USPTO Manual of Patent Examining Procedure. It presents sections, statutes, rules, cases, and cross-references as machine-readable data, accessible both to people through the website and to agents over MCP, REST, and llms.txt.

The service is provided for information only and is not legal advice. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official publication of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Case holdings and certain summaries are generated by automated systems and may contain errors or omissions. They carry confidence flags and are aids to orientation only.

You must verify any AI-generated material against the underlying opinions and authorities before relying on it or citing it.

Content is pinned to a specific, hash-verified corpus revision so that citations stay reproducible over time. We strive for accuracy, but we make no guarantee that the data is complete, current, or free of error.

You may access the service and API for lawful purposes, subject to reasonable rate limits. You agree not to disrupt the service, circumvent limits, or misrepresent the source or official status of the data.

Bulk copying, scraping, redistribution, or use of the data to train machine-learning models is not permitted without our written permission — see the next section.

The underlying government texts — the MPEP, the United States Code, the Code of Federal Regulations, and court opinions — are public domain works of the U.S. government or public judicial records. Nothing in these terms restricts your use of those texts as such.

Everything mpep.io adds on top is the proprietary work of Patent Agentic LLC: the structured representation (typed citation graphs, entity registries, and identifiers), the annotations and holdings, the AI-generated summaries, and the compiled data artifacts. This material is © Patent Agentic LLC, all rights reserved. Browsing is free, but copying, scraping, bulk-downloading, redistributing, or accessing it programmatically beyond personal evaluation requires our written permission. Commercial and programmatic access terms are available from us.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Patent Agentic LLC is not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service.
